Back by…my demand, I suppose. This is sort of a micro-browser history bit of journalling.

  1. The Seduction of Clarity: Found this in a HackerNews thread. Feelings of clarity and premature stopping.

  2. Feast of C.S. Lewis: I was charmed by this. I was charmed. I’ll always appreciate Lewis, even if not in the same ways I once did.

  3. Eric Adams Searches a Room: Not timely, not immediate, but a little nugget of joy I return to periodically.

  4. Shannon’s Demon: I learned this. It makes a certain kind of sense and I consider myself above the average in terms of investment knowledge, but it was new for me.

  5. Kessler Sisters obit: I ended up watching 50 plus year old nightclub sets because of this.

  6. Haydar Haydar: I’ve been interested in Bektashi culture since the spring, found an album linked on the Smithsonian website, found it on Spotify, then have been off the races with it.

  7. Squirrel Etymology: It links back to Greek, apparently, and shares a root with “shadow” in that language. This is one of those little nothing things that ended up being surprisingly interesting.

  8. The Rain Beast: As far as I can tell, the story I’m familiar with is on the front page right now, but doesn’t have its own permalink. A friend from a local writer’s group wrote this and found an outlet.

  9. Alton Brown Cooks: Nothing groundbreaking here, but it was just good to see a dude I used to enjoy talking about food now again in the present talking about food.

  10. Can We Know the Universe?: Sagan’s subtitle here is better: “Reflections on a Grain of Salt.” I was on the hunt for encapsulated philosophy of science statements, and there are definitely parts of this that fit.
